Peter Romer-Friedman has litigated and settled three of the four largest class actions in the history of USERRA. He also litigated and settled one of the most high profile USERRA lawsuits brought by an Air Force reservist against the House Benghazi Committee, and won the first appellate victory interpreting pension rights under USERRA. He is currently litigating USERRA class actions against L-3 Technologies, Federal Express Corp., Washington State, American Airlines’ pension plan, and Southwest Airlines. Mr. Romer-Friedman previously served as the primary advisor to the Senate Labor Committee on USERRA and other veterans’ employment issues as labor counsel to then-Chairman Edward M. Kennedy. He routinely advises the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs on USERRA, teaches continuing legal education courses on USERRA, clerked for Judge Reinhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, has served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, and graduated from Columbia Law School.
